January Family Adventure

For Christmas this year, we decided to gift Kobe a year of monthly ‘Family Adventures’. I saw the idea on social media and loved it, so even though we already had all his gifts purchased, I went ahead and planned everything out knowing I would forget it for the next year if I waited.

The whole goal is to strategically and intentionally plan ‘Family Adventures’, where the whole day basically revolves around Kobe (and eventually Lettie) and we spent lots of quality time with them. I planned out one thing for every month, and at the beginning of each month, Micah and I sit down with our calendar and pick a day for our adventure.

The ‘adventures’ can be big or small. I had to be very strategic when planning these first few months knowing I would be big pregnant, and then with a newborn. Some of our adventures are completely free activities like simple park days, and then we do have a family trip planned as our adventure for later in the year.

For January, we went to Let’s Play in Huntsville. Let’s Play is an indoor play area for kids. There are tons of slides, obstacle course, bouncy areas, ball pits, all the things!! It was only $26 for all three of us to play.

We played for several hours, and then decided on Rosies for lunch. After Rosies, we stopped by Bridge Street and let Kobe pick out a few bath bombs from Lush and grabbed some chocolate covered apples from The Chocolate Crocodile.

Next months adventure is already planned out, as long as sister doesn’t decide to come early!! Stay tuned!
