House Tour + Pictures

Our house was actually cleaned up for the first time since we have moved in so I had to take pictures of everything while it was clean!! It won’t last long! There are still lots of things to be done and I have so much decorating to do still but it will all get done in time. Maybe I will remember to share more as I decorate, too!!

When we first started building, we planned on living in our house for a few years, just long enough to know we were done having kids, then build a forever home. The kitchen and living area would turn into a shop, then the upstairs would be my studio. But if you read my last blog post on the house, you know the events that unfolded and that we will never, ever build a house again!

Of course, there are things I would have done differently if we had planned for this to be our forever home when we started the whole building process. But, I love it anyways. So, here is a our little house tour.

First up, our kitchen!! I love the open concept of our kitchen, living, and dining area! In the island, we have a mini fridge for drinks and a microwave. The coffee bar to the side has a drawer designed just to hold my k-cups. My kitchen table was built by my dad, and the bottom of it was used as the guest book at our wedding.

I cornered the wall where our tv and fireplace would go and put ship lap all the way up. Around the fireplace, we had granite installed so we didn’t have to worry about the fire burning the wood.

Of course I had to have a little work space, too! I still have to decide how to decorate those floating shelves.

Our kitchen table was build by my dad and the bottom side was used as the guest book at our wedding. So we will have our guests signatures and notes forever. ❤️ I am having the hardest time deciding on a rug and chairs to go with it though.

Next up, our bedroom! Go to Ponderosa for all your furniture needs!! They were so helpful and made sure I found pieces that I loved. I can’t wait to get pictures printed a hung and the rest of our room decorated.

Okay, our closets. 10/10 recommend putting your washer and dryer/laundry room in your closet. Our closet connects all the way through to Kobe’s closet too, so putting clothes up is so easy. Also, I had our cabinet guy build me a drying rack in my dresser and I love it.

In Kobe’s room, we added a little “room” for him under the steps. It was going to end up being wasted space, so we made the best out of it and made him a little place to play. He absolutely loves it. And when he gets older and doesn’t use it as a place to play anymore, we will put cabinet doors on it and turn it into storage.

Upstairs is my studio/work space (for now). I am sure it will eventually turn into a play room or bonus room for Kobe and any future kids we have. There is also a bedroom, bathroom, and three closets up there. The bedroom will turn into Micah’s night shift room once we get everything situated and in its place! But for now it’s holding all our boxes that we haven’t unpacked yet.

Now it’s time for the fun part, decorating!!! 😍
